What it means
They process something like a hundred and eighty liters of fluid a day and return almost all of it, producing a couple of liters of urine from the difference. Each kidney holds around a million filtering units, and the reabsorption step is where the real work happens: the body throws nearly everything out and then carefully takes back the water, salts and sugars it wants to keep.
