What it means

Element forty three resisted every search, and false claims of finding it were made repeatedly. The reason is that all of its isotopes decay, and the longest lived are short compared with the age of the Earth, so any that existed when the planet formed is long gone. It was eventually made in a particle accelerator in 1937 and named for the Greek word for artificial. Today it is the workhorse of hospital imaging.

The claim comes from Royal Society of Chemistry.
