What it means

One plus two plus three is six, and one plus two plus four plus seven plus fourteen is twenty eight. After those the next two are four hundred and ninety six and eight thousand one hundred and twenty eight. Euclid showed how to build such a number from a prime of a special form, and Euler proved that every even one arises that way. Whether any odd perfect number exists has been open for more than two thousand years.
