What it means
Newton described gravity as a force reaching across empty space, and it predicts orbits beautifully without saying how the reach works. Einstein replaced the force with geometry: mass curves spacetime, and a freely falling object simply follows the straightest available path through the curved version. That is why everything falls at the same rate regardless of what it is made of, which under a force law is a coincidence and here is unavoidable.
